The short answer
Money you hold, and proof of the work you do. Not a monthly income.
The amount is one thing, the proof is another. Thai embassies do not all ask for the same statement: some want a current balance, others three months of statements each ending above the figure. We prepare three months of statements, each month-end at or above the figure, in your own name, which is our advice and satisfies the stricter reading.
What the government charges
130,000 PKR as the Embassy in Islamabad announced it in July 2024, paid in cash at the Embassy according to its e-visa guidance. We confirm the current figure before you pay. Extensions at the Immigration Bureau carry their own fee. Police certificates and translations are your own costs. Our fee is separate.

Two documents added on 31 August 2026. The Department of Consular Affairs notice replaced the document showing your current location with proof of permanent residence, and added a criminal record clearance certificate. Applications submitted before that date follow the old list. We check whether your certificate needs an apostille or translation before you upload.
Enter, then plan your 180 days. Each entry gives up to 180 days, and Immigration decides on arrival. You can extend once per entry, by up to 180 days, at the Immigration Bureau. After the extended stay you leave Thailand, and can re-enter on the same visa while it is valid.
Filing from Pakistan: through Thailand's e-visa portal, under the Royal Thai Embassy in Islamabad. The Embassy's e-visa guidance says you must be physically in Pakistan for the whole application, pay in cash at its Visa Gate, and expect around fourteen working days.

There is no income requirement. The Destination Thailand Visa asks for financial evidence of at least 500,000 THB, with a bank statement, pay slips or a sponsorship letter given as examples. How you earn is shown separately, through your work documents.

The visa is valid for five years with multiple entries, and each entry allows up to 180 days. Each entry can be extended once, by up to 180 days, at the Immigration Bureau in Thailand. After that you leave and can re-enter on the same visa while it is valid.
The Embassy in Islamabad announced the fee as 130,000 PKR in July 2024, and its e-visa guidance says it is paid in cash at the Embassy. We confirm the current amount before you pay. Extension fees in Thailand are separate, and so is ours.
Yes. Spouses and dependent children of DTV holders are their own category, with proof of relationship such as a marriage or birth certificate. Whether each family member must show their own financial evidence is not stated on the pages we read, so we check it for your case.
The DTV is built for remote work for employers and clients abroad. Working for anyone in Thailand is a different question: Thai embassy guidance says a non-immigrant visa holder works in Thailand only once granted a work permit.
Possibly. The Revenue Department taxes a foreigner who stays 180 days or more in a calendar year on foreign income earned from 2024 onwards once it is brought into Thailand, even in a later year. Speak to a Thai adviser before you move money in.
No official page we read says it does. Treat it as a long, flexible stay rather than a path to settling, and we do not claim otherwise.
